Yeah, it’s Wes. Good ol’ former-friend-working-for-the-other-gang-Wes. What does this mean for Vera? Nothing good.

And that, my friends, is Chapter 4! I hope you enjoyed it, along with its cliffhanger ending. I’m really grateful you’ve been along for the ride so far. Not to worry, though! I will not leave you hanging, there is way more story left to come. Work on chapter 5 is going along at a steady pace, as I close in on finishing the thumbnails this week, along with thumbnails for the next chapter’s cover.

I don’t have a solid release date for Chapter 5 yet, but it should come soon. Another exciting bit of news is that the next chapter will be done in a new update style: by scenes. What this means is that I’m currently breaking the chapter into natural story beats. You won’t get one page every week, but what you will get is several at once. Hopefully, this will improve the feel of the story flow. I’ll talk about this more in depth when we’re starting up.

For the most up-to-the-minute updates on the comic, check out my Twitter. The Tumblr will also announce when things are ready to roll. As always, my buddies on Patreon will be getting earliest previews of upcoming Chapter 5 stuff, along with early access to pages as they’re finished. Merry Christmas to those who celebrate! Have an update where Brody gets suspicious and crosses paths with our Venetronus buddies. If you look carefully, you may see some funny cameos that I previewed on Twitter a while back. I would’ve had a holiday card update instead, but my computer has had issues lately where it logs me out while I’m using Photoshop. I really thought we fixed them because they hadn’t happened in a few days, buuuut no. :\

Anyway! Happy Holidays to you all! I hope everyone’s been having a good month, enjoying your holiday of choice with your loved ones. Anyway, in Patreon-related news, in case you didn’t hear yet: Patreon has walked back their proposed fee-change. While they still are looking towards changing how things are done in the future, for now there will be no changes to how things are done, and thus pledges of $1 or 2 aren’t being super punished. If you left anyone’s Patreon recently over the fee change, consider going back now (unless they’ve figured out another way to support them), they’ll be glad to have you back!

Okay, so you’ve probably heard about this already, but Patreon is planning on changing their fee system. This new setup is bad for smaller creators like myself, and for lower-tier patrons (especially those of you who like helping multiple creators at dollar levels). While I hope they’ll reconsider this, I don’t believe they will. For the time being I will still be on Patreon, as it’s my biggest and only constant source of income right now, but I will be looking at my options in the new year. For now, updates on my Patreon have not changed. $5+ will get a new inked page today, and constant sneak peeks are up for all patrons.
