I think Lyons’s day is even more ruined now, really.

That’s a tough decision, lemme tell ya.

There appears to be a disagreement as to exactly where they’re gonna escape to. Can’t say they both don’t make a good argument for their side.

Surprise! I know, y’all didn’t expect an update, right? I wanted to post the entire car chase scene at once, but this year has been A Lot. Arcane Eon is always my favorite priority, but I needed to put paying my bills and putting my girlfriend through school first, so the comic had to take a backseat as I did other work. That said, I wanted to make sure I had something for you all before the end of the year! Please enjoy these pages and know that I’ve got a bunch of others that are very close to being finished, so there will definitely not be a giant break between updates again. This is my gift to you, for your patience and understanding. <3

Let the car chase begin! Brody is not allowed to drive!

When in doubt, turn to darkness magic, right? It at least gave Mariel the time to swoop in, grab the case, and make a break for it! With this, we say goodbye to Hart’s Arena for the time being, and take this chase out into the streets!

Due to the next scene being the longest of the chapter, it may take a little longer to get the next batch of pages ready. Rest assured, I’m already hard at work at them and really looking forward to sharing them all with you!

Welcome to February’s update! It’s only three pages due to the flow of the scene, but don’t worry, this leads us into the big climactic scene, and that one’s a doozy.

And with this page we see the triumphant return of Corda, showing off her great acrobatic skills. Gangsters in Zedor City are incredibly hands-on, as you’re noticing, and Corda has to keep up with people like Lyons (who has sheer numbers and Wes on his payroll) and Arley (who herself can throw magic around like a pro). Fun fact, Corda and her gang as you might’ve seen earlier often use oneders in fights. They’re the little silver balls that function like one-use spells. It’s like a pokeball but instead of a cute little friend, it’s filled with magic. I dunno, I think I’d prefer a squirtle.

On the technical aspect of this page, I’m continuing with the coloring work I’ve learned and I really love how it’s turning out. I think this is really helping me avoid muddy and too-dark colors, which were an unfortunate issue in volume 1. Always seek new learning, everyone! It really pays off and can be very exciting.

And that brings the magic duel to a…uh, draw, I guess? Or invalid due to outside interference. Probably that, as you can tell Hart isn’t too happy about this (or the crowd for that matter).

Now everyone’s together at last! Very exciting! I personally learned a lot during this batch of pages that I look forward to refining and applying to the rest of the chapter. We’re over halfway finished now. Can you believe it? It’s gonna be a chaotic rush to the end, and we’ll see what happens to everyone soon enough.
