There goes the Mother’s Kiss, and Mason Manor with it. But the important thing is that most of them survived.
Next week will be the beginning of the epilogue, and then that’ll be it for the chapter and this first arc! See you then.
]]>Every once in a while you need a montage to fight a people-eating plant, y’know?
We’re really getting toward the end now, see you next week.
]]>I don’t think the plant is really liking the “Being Lit On Fire” plan.
Personally, my favorite panels here are Mariel and Jase’s magic tag-team, complete with sound effects.
Oh, Happy Vernal Equinox everyone! See you next week.
]]>Way to use that teamwork thing there, guys!
This, I think, was one of the most action-oriented pages yet, and I’m overall fairly happy with how it turned out.
Ugh, I’m still feeling that lost hour from Daylight Savings. Until next week, everyone!
]]>You gotta go after Jase, the guy was already tenderized by the plant.
See you next week when we find out if he becomes a munchy crunchy snack.
]]>Looks like Nolen found something good, at least.
I tried an entirely different process for coloring this page. I wasn’t that enthused with the results, so the upcoming pages are more of me adapting the technique closer to what makes me happy.
This Wednesday is my birthday! It always sneaks up on me now. Stealth birthdays. Anyway, my birthday wish is just that you come back next week for more of the thrilling conclusion! And maybe tell your friends about this neat comic you like?
]]>At last, Jase is reunited with his very best friend. Martinson would love to be reunited with his best friends (his boats) but they’s all pretty much been smashed to bitty pieces.
60 pages! That means there’s only 10 left in this story and chapter. I do believe that counts as the homestretch! It’s all very exciting.
See you next week!
]]>And thus our brave heroes split their party up even further. C’mon, guys, really.
This entire last scene has been really interesting for me to make. At this point, none of the pages are the results of my original thumbnails, and the scene was cut down by around 15 pages, I think. This, in the end, I consider a good thing; while I need to do more work to layout these pages, there is better pacing and clarity. It’s also a testament to how much I’ve learned just on this first arc. I’m really looking forward to how much more I’ll learn along the way.
Oh, and Happy 1/2 Price Chocolate Day!
]]>Oh god, guys no, don’t split up the party! It’s like they’ve never played D&D or watched a horror movie.
I ended up having to make the fire twice, but I like the drawn version I ended up with better than the earlier version.
See you next week!
]]>And now for plants! Plants everywhere! Attacking from walls! Maybe ceilings! With exclamation points!
Next week we’ll see the gang vs. vine, and it’ll be cooool. See you then!
